I've got 2 kids: Girl - 11 years / 4' 9" / 86 lbs and Boy - 8 years / 4' 6" / 68 lbs. They each had Maxi Micro scooters for 7 and 5 years respectively. They used them all the time and rode them hard across Canada and the USA. It was not uncommon for us to knock off 8 - 10 km trips during COVID isolation. I cannot recommend that scooter enough but after years of use and abuse they each broke within 3 weeks of each other in May 2020. Each would have required $80 in replacement parts to get them back on the road but the kids are bigger than they were and I decided it was time for an upgrade. Showrooms were closed during COVID so there were no test rides or tire-kicking. I invested more hours than I would like to admit researching different scooters. I really wanted the largest wheels I could get with a scooter that they would never outgrow. This led me to the 200mm which comes in a few variations. I opted for the Deluxe (other countries brand these the Black or White). It weighs 10.8 lbs and has a weight limit of 220 lbs. It has a Vibram deck grip, built-in cable lock, and front wheel suspension. I was worried that this was too much scooter for my kids but they love them. The wheels are efficient and you can coast long distances. We just finished a 17.2 km ride with no complaints. They fold up easy and the kids are proud of them when other kids are in the playground. It was a lot of money for scooters but the build quality is worth it and they will never outgrow it. I can use them at 6' 3" and 215 lbs. I bought them online from Kickboard Canada and had to return one to the warehouse for repair to the front suspension. They offered me a new scooter but I just wanted the spring replaced which was complete in 5 minutes. The experience made me very comfortable that they are going to service any issues with these scooters. These are commuting scooters and I have to remind my 8 year that he cannot take them into skate parks as folding scooters are not for stunts. I must admit that I would have liked to have the air-filled tires on the ride today. Air-filled provides a smoother ride but are noticeably slower than the hard PU tires. The hard tires are the right choice for us on the sidewalks and playgrounds we are normally on. In conclusion, we were very happy with the Maxi Micro and now very happy with the 200 mm Deluxe.
Got this for my son and he loves it! Can’t compare with other brands!
this scooter is the best I have ever had! I absolutely love it.
Bought it for my daughter. Very solid, well built and great to ride. She loves it. It replaced a Razor scooter that we had nothing but problems with. The build quality on the micro is noticeable from the beginning. Completely recommend.
Great looking scooter, smooth ride and the lock is handy. I bought it for my husband for Father's Day and he couldn't be happier.
